SNEERINGER CLAIMS TRAIL-WAY SPEEDWAY 358 SPRINT CAR SEASON OPENER;

Hanover, PA (04/20/15) – Hanover’s Isaac Sneeringer claimed the season opener for 358 sprint cars at Trail-Way Speedway Friday night.  But it wasn’t easy.
“I was working my (butt) off trying to get past Seth (Kearchner),” said Sneeringer upon exiting his DCI Racing/R&R Transportation/Todd Gosnell General Paving #19Z in victory lane, “But it feels real good to win the first night out.”
Kearchner drew the pole for the feature and led the first 19 laps before Sneeringer, who started third, wrestled the lead away from the DS Communications/NAPA Auto Parts #30 exiting turn two of lap 20.
Kearchner, who lost a spark plug wire at about the mid-point of the race, ran on seven cylinders the remainder of the way and held off David Holbrook in a one-lap shootout at the finish.
Former micro-sprint star Holbrook, running his first-ever race in a 358 sprinter, finished third, followed by Cody Fletcher and Randy Whisler.
Whisler was named the event’s hard-charger despite losing a rear end in warm-ups and going back to the shop to get another one in time for the feature.
“I’m working out of town and will do my best to make every race,” said Sneeringer, “I might have to fly home a few times.”
The lone qualifier for the eight “358” sprinters on hand was won by Kearchner.

Tyler Walton drew the pole and led every lap of the 20-lap 600cc micro-sprint opener.
Arron Spahr, who built Walton’s motor, started fourth and finished second to his good friend in an event which was less than a lap from the finish before the event’s only caution came out.
Walton lapped half the field before the lap 20 caution came out.
Third through fifth were seventh-starting Travis Scott, Brad Weber, and lady driver Alyson Dietz.
Heats for the 15 micros were won by Spahr and Colton Laughman.

Craig Wagaman started on the pole and dominated the 20-lap street stock feature.
Jeremy Stremmel came from seventh starting spot to cross runner-up, with defending track champ Dan Furman, Aaron Beard, and Dalton Myers completing the top five.
Heats for the ten street stocks were won by Eric Johnson and Beard.
Johnson lost oil pressure and dropped to the infield as the feature was about to begin.

Cory Weishaar started on the outside pole and drove away from the field in the 15-lap limited stock feature.
Polesitter Shannon Weaver crossed second, followed by Kenny Startzman, Sarah Redmond, and ninth-starting Ricky Weaver, Jr.
Qualifiers for the 18 limited stocks were won by Weishaar and Matt Chronister.

Next Friday (4/17), Trail-Way will host the 358 Sprints, Central PA Legends, Classic Cars, and Limited Stocks.  Gates for the show open at 5:30 PM, with racing at 7:45 PM.
