RACER FRIENDLY FORMAT WELCOMES ALL 358 SPRINT CARS TO THE NOUSE SIGNS & GRAPHICS SUMMER SERIES EVENTS
The format for the 4-race Nouse Signs & Graphics 358 Sprint Car Summer Series is different from anything ever used before, and is sure to be a hit with all 358 racers from all tracks because there is no “penalty box”.
Under normal handicapping in Central PA, drivers who compete regularly at their home track get penalized when they visit a different track because they don’t have a point average at that track. That penalty is usually that the visiting driver cannot start any better than 12th in the feature event. It’s a great way to protect a “visitor” from coming in and taking a win from the weekly supporters of the track, but it also discourages drivers from racing at different places.
For the Nouse Signs & Graphics Summer Series, that handicapping system is being replaced with something better and more “racer friendly” to all drivers. Here’s how it works….
At each event, the driver will draw a pill for his heat race starting position like they usually do every week. Heat races will be run, and the first 3 or 4 drivers from each heat will make the feature “invert”.
Just like every week, right? Well here’s where it becomes better. The top 12 drivers that made the invert from the heats will be handicapped according to the Central PA 358 point standings average points rather than the hosting track’s point standings.
So in other words, ANY driver who normally races at ANY track can start in the feature position that they earned based on their average points in the Central PA 358 point standings. Simple, yet brilliant.
So what does this mean for the fans of 358 Sprint Car racing? It means that all of the drivers will finally be brought together in a series of races, with a fair format, to decide who is truly the best in the 358 Sprint Car division.
