SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will showcase three special events in nine days during the upcoming week of the Independence Day Holiday June 30, July 3, and July 8.

This coming Saturday, June 30, the speedway will host its annual Kids Night in memory of life-long race fan Carol Stuck who passed away in the fall of 2016. On Kids Night, students and kids ages 17 and under will be admitted FREE!

There will be lots of games, giveaways, and activities for young race fans throughout the night’s racing program featuring the 360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners sponsored by Sunbury Eagles Club.

Fans of all ages can meet several drivers and see their race cars up close in the grandstand midway as part of a pre-race autograph session. At intermission, children ages 12 and under will have the opportunity to race their big wheels, power wheels, and bicycles down the frontstretch. Winners in each of the age groups will receive trophies.  All participants will be required to wear helmets.

Grandstand and pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing slated for 7:30 p.m.

Selinsgrove Speedway will swing back into action with a rare mid-week show at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, for the Firecracker races sponsored by Selinsgrove Ford.

The 360 sprint cars and super late models will each compete in 30-lap main events paying $3,000 to win and $275 to start! The pro stocks will compete in a 15-lap feature in memory of former Selinsgrove Speedway champion C.W. Smith paying $1,028 to win. The top 10 positions of the pro stock purse have been increased.  Drivers in all three divisions will draw for starting positions and redraw for features.

A professional fireworks display will cap off the big night of racing July 3 at the historic half-mile oval. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.

Both the June 30 and July 3 races will be 358 sprint car bonus nights sponsored by the Newville Family of Companies. $300, $200, and $100 bonuses will be awarded to the top three finishing 358 sprint car drivers in each of the 360 sprint car main events.

Rounding out the speedway’s trifecta of holiday racing programs will be the Middleswarth Potato Chips PA Speedweek Finale for the 410 sprint cars in memory of Dick Bogar and Jan Opperman at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8.

The 410 sprint cars will be featured in a 30-lap main event paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start. Joining the 410 sprint cars for the open wheel doubleheader will be the PASS 305 sprint cars in a 20-lap feature.

Grandstand and pit gates on July 8 will open at 5 p.m.
