Inside Line Promotions - DE SOTO, Kan. (May 27, 2020) - Mandy Chick is both excited and confident heading into her season opener this weekend.
Chick will pilot her late model on Saturday at her home track of Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Mo., during a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event titled the Show Me State Showdown.
"I'm very excited to start the season at my home track," she said. "I've logged hundreds and hundreds of laps there so I feel like we have a huge advantage already. I couldn't think of a better place to try to contend for our first late model win. Of course we're going to have some tough competition like Bubba Pollard, Carson Hocevar and Travis Braden, but I think our experience and notes there will help out tremendously. We're extremely prepared and ready for the weekend."
During the offseason Chick and the team spent countless hours preparing race cars as well as focusing on physical and mental preparation.
"We've spent so much time in the shop preparing the cars for the season and I think that has benefited us," she said. "As they say, 'Success is when preparation meets opportunity.' We're as prepared as we have ever been."
This will mark Chick's third full season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and another year of going after the coveted championship.
"Our plan is to contend for a championship again this year," she said. "Our first year on the tour we finished fourth in the points and we finished second last year so I'm thinking the third time is the charm."
