Mark Smith captures USCS Sprint Speedweek opener at Old No. 1 Speedway on Friday

Harrisburg, AR - Friday, May 29, 2020 - Mark Smith from Sunbury, PA bested a 33 car field at Old No. 1 Speedway to win the opening round of the 15th annual USCS Sprint Speedweeks. Smith raced past two-time USCS National Champion, Jordon Mallett into the lead early and pedaled away but had to hold off Mallett and a strong contingent of drivers from 11 states after several yellow flag and one red flag incident.

Mallett came past the checkers in the runner-up spot, followed by the Alabama Outlaw, Kyle Amerson in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place with Sprint Car Hall of Famer Danny Smith fom Chillicothe, Ohio in fourth and another, Ohioan, Max Stambaugh completed the top five.

The USCS Sprint Car Speedweeks Round #2 is set for what is expected to be a larger field at historic Riverside Int. Speedway in West Memphis, Akansas on Saturday night 5/30 at 7:30pm. On Sunday evening 5/31 at 6pm the USCS Sprint Speedweeks speed spectacular invades Lexington 104 Speedway near Lexington, Tennessee. For more info please visit www.uscsracing.com
