SOLID IN SEPTEMBER: CJB Team Stout as All Stars Come to Pennsylvania Team gets ready for Champion Racing Oil National Open with tune up

CARLISLE, PA. - September 21, 2020 - The Ollies Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions swung through Pennsylvania and gave Brent Marks and his CJB Motorsports team plenty of opportunities to chase victories.

Marks and the team were in action on September 16th at Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pa. Marks timed in 18th after a nasty flip. Marks then finished 7th in his heat race before charging from 8th to 2nd in the B-main. Marks kept up the speed in the A-main by going from 22nd to 9th.

On Friday, September 19th, the team was back in action at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg. Marks timed in 3rd in his group, finished 2nd in heat race and 5th in the feature.

The team wrapped up their weekend with another stop at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 19. Marks timed in 14th for the 7th annual Dirt Classic before finished 3rd and 2nd in his heat races. From there, Marks drove to a 3rd place finish.

"We had a pretty good week of racing," said Marks, pilot of the #5 M&M Painting and Construction, BAPS Paints, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Alkaline 88 Water, R.E. Pierson Construction Co., Wolfrun Landscapes, Nyce, Crete & Landis Block and Concrete, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Ecynbro Trucking machine. "Caught some trouble Wednesday at Lincoln, but the guys worked really hard to get me back out there for the heat race and we were able to salvage our night with a top 10. We had a great car at Williams Grove. Unfortunately, it took rubber and just became a survival type of night. The Dirt Classic (at Lincoln) we had a phenomenal car. I wish we could have gotten to lap traffic because I feel like I would have been able to get by Aaron (Reutzel) and battle Kyle (Larson) for the win."

CJB Motorsports will participate at the Governors Reign event at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 22nd and 23rd. The event will pay $50,000 to the winner and is participants only. Be sure to check out Floracing.com. The team will also compete at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 25th and Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, September 26th.

"I'm looking forward to Eldora," said Marks. "It's one of my favorite tracks and I'm excited to see what we can do. We got a lot of big races this week and next week and I'm ready for them. We can contend for wins at every race."

Gio Scelzi Nets Two PA Podiums

PETERSEN MEDIA- Another busy week in Pennsylvania for Gio Scelzi was highlighted by a second place run with the All Stars at Williams Grove on Friday night, as well as a Thursday night third place finish at BAPS Motor Speedway.

“It was a really solid week for us out in PA,” Gio Scelzi said. “We had a chance to really take some big swings at our car, and we continued to make gains which is huge for us as we continue to gel.”

The busy stretch kicked off on Wednesday night at Lincoln Speedway where Scelzi would pick up a 10th place finish in the feature event aboard the Logan Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 machine.

Thursday night the scene shifted to BAPS Motor Speedway where the Fresno, CA driver would have a very strong night that saw him kick things off by timing in third fastest in time trials.

Running second in his heat, Scelzi would find himself on the outside of the second row to start the feature event on a surface that was extremely slick.

Continuing to try and get dialed in on slick surfaces, Scelzi and the Tyler Swank led crew would make some big changes to their car before the feature event and they would pay dividends. Working inside the Top-Three during the duration of the feature, Scelzi would cap his night with a third place run as the team readied for two nights of action with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

Checking in at Williams Grove Speedway, a venue he won at a year ago, Scelzi got off to a strong start as he timed in fastest in his qualifying flight, and fastest overall.

Running fourth in his heat race, Scelzi would advance into one of the twin dashes based on his qualifying time, and by way of the win in Dash No. 2, he would start on the front row of the feature event.

On another slick surface, Scelzi would get off to a great start as he would get the early jump in the feature event. Pacing the field over the likes of Aaron Reutzel and Kyle Larson.

With a little rubber starting to go down on the speedway, Scelzi would be at a bit of a disadvantage as the leader. With Aaron Reutzel getting to it first, he would overtake Scelzi for the race lead on the 14th lap.

Settling into second, Scelzi would hang on to the position as he would fend off Larson and land on the podium with the All Stars by way of a runner up finish.

Returning to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night for the Dirt Classic, Scelzi would continue to flex his muscle and show speed as he timed in third quickest in his time trials flight.

Running the unique Dirt Classic format, the youngster would win his first heat before finishing seventh in his second heat. Once points were tabulated, he would find himself safely in the feature event as he took the green flag from the sixth starting position.

The feature event did not quite go how Scelzi and company had hoped to cap off the busy week of racing, but he was still able to battle inside the Top-10 during much of the 40-lap affair. Slipping back to 11th in the closing laps, Scelzi would finish there to finish the week off.

“Saturday night we missed it a little, but I am still really happy with how the week went and how much we learned as a team,” Scelzi said. “I am really confident heading into Eldora Speedway, and Plymouth Speedway this week.”

KCP Racing would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Cox Design and Fabrication, Armor Electric Company, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-19, Wins-0, Top-5’s- 8, Top 10’s-9

ON TAP: Scelzi and KCP Racing will take part in Tuesday and Wednesday’s Governors Reign at Eldora Speedway before battling with the World of Outlaws on Thursday night at Plymouth Speedway.

Zearfoss highlights four-race sweep with top-ten in Lincoln’s Dirt Classic

 By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (September 21, 2020) – The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss translated four Central Pennsylvania starts into a pair of top-ten finishes during the recent weekend, highlighting all appearances with a sixth-place performance during Lincoln Speedway’s Dirt Classic 7 featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday, September 19.

Lining-up seventh on the 40-lap, $20,000-to-win grid, Zearfoss was a top-ten threat the entire distance, battling ahead and contending for a top-five before settling for one spot out. The end result equaled Zearfoss’ 14th top-ten finish of the season against Tony Stewart’s All Stars, bettering most of the 53-car field in attendance.

Two nights prior at BAPS Motor Speedway, Zearfoss finished eighth, maintaining a spot inside the top-ten after starting sixth on the Kevin Gobrecht Classic lineup.

Zearfoss was well on his way to a top-ten finish during Williams Grove Speedway’s Jack Gunn Memorial on Friday, September 18, but contact with the outside retaining wall on the final circuit forced the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-native to stop just shy of the start/finish line; he was scored 21st.

“It was a pretty good weekend, but we’re always striving to do better. The speed is there and we’ve proven that over and over again. We have to tweak on some things and we’ll be right there,” Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., BAPS Auto Paints & Supply, Meckley’s Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car who finished 11th during Lincoln’s Weldon Sterner Memorial to open his four-race week on Wednesday. “I can’t thank my team enough for all of their hard work. We’ve been racing close to home, but a four-race schedule like that is never easy, no matter where you are at. We have another big week ahead, so we’ll do what we can to get our car to the front.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with another four-race sweep, this time invading the highbanks of Eldora Speedway for the highly-anticipated Governors Reign on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 22-23, followed by back-to-back starts at Williams Grove Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway on Friday and Saturday, September 25-26. Selinsgrove Speedway’s National Open will award $20,000.

The first-ever Governors Reign at The Big E will kick-off with a $10,000-to-win preliminary on Tuesday, capped with the $52,000-to-win finale the following evening.

Michael eighth at Fremont; Consistent September continues

 By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FREMONT, Ohio (September 21, 2020) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael scored a second consecutive top-ten finish at Fremont Speedway during the recent weekend, this time maintaining his place inside the top-ten to finish eighth after starting in the exact same position. The Plano, Texas-native, who resides in Fremont during much of his racing schedule, finished fourth at “The Track That Action Built” just one weekend prior.

Consistent, to say the least, Michael’s month of September has been more than productive, especially in northwest Ohio where the Texan has earned four total top-ten finishes between Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway, one of which against the All Star Circuit of Champions; a tenth-place rally from the back of the field.

“We’ve been working hard all summer and our results reflect that. I’m proud of this team. I just wish it wasn’t almost October,” Michael said, driver of the Advanced Architectural Stone, Crown Battery, Fremont Fence Company, Pro-Tech Services, Wood Heating and Air Conditioning, Kear’s Speed Shop, Wings Unlimited, Big D’s Pizza, No. 8M sprint car. “We’re starting to build a pretty solid notebook. The plan is to keep these positive results coming and hopefully get another win before the year is up. I know we are more than capable of making that happen.”

T.J. Michael and Michael Motorsports will continue their 2020 campaign with a return trip to Fremont Speedway on Saturday, September 26, furthering their prep work for the annual Jim Ford Classic featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions on Friday and Saturday, October 9-10. The two-day, season-ending program will cap with a $10,000-to-win main event.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Three Tracks In Three Days Set To Thrill The three-day weekend will set the stage for an epic points title hunt

PLYMOUTH, IN — Sept. 21, 2020 — For the second time this season, the best Sprint Car drivers in the world will face a triple-header weekend with three races at three tracks in three days.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series returns to Plymouth Speedway for the first time since 2017 on Thurs., Sept. 24. It’ll then venture to Wayne County Speedway for the first time in 35 years for a $15,000-to-win and $1,000-to-start event presented by Slick Woody’s Cornhole Company on Fri., Sept. 25. The weekend will cap off with the prestigious Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway on Sat., Sept. 26.

Five drivers are still in contention for the driver championship and six teams are in contention for the team championship. The three-race stretch will test the limits of each driver and team and demonstrate their caliber of going after the title.

If you can’t make it to the tracks, you can watch the races live on DIRTVision.

Here are the top storylines for the weekend:

LOGAN’S RUN: Logan Schuchart, of Hanover, PA, isn’t letting reigning champion Brad Sweet run off with another World of Outlaws championship just yet. The Shark Racing driver won his sixth race of the year at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and cut into Sweet’s points lead. Schuchart now trails Sweet by eight points going into the triple-header weekend.

He’s currently on a streak of 23 top-10 finishes in a row. His last visit to Plymouth in 2017 ended early due to an issue taking him out of the race before it started. He’ll make his first appearance at Wayne County and will look to improve upon his ninth-place finish at Lernerville from July.

HAUD GOES HOME: Sheldon Haudenschild, of Wooster, OH, is making the trek home while on a hot streak with his Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing team. In his last 20 starts, Haudenschild has collected five wins and 17 top-10 finishes – 12 of them top-five finishes.

He'll look to continue that streak this weekend as he’s only 14 points behind 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz for third in points. Haudenschild finished seventh in his World of Outlaws debut at Plymouth in 2017. He’s yet to run a World of Outlaws race at Wayne County – which is 15 minutes from his home – but has seven wins there. And he finished fourth at Lernerville in July.

BIG CAT ON TOP: Lernerville Speedway was a turning in Brad Sweet's championship quest last year. He earned his 50th career win and left with a large points lead that help secure him his first championship. He’ll look to make the most the triple-header weekend and exit Lernerville with similar fortunes.

The Grass Valley, CA driver won the Series’ first race at Plymouth in 2016 and finished fifth the year after. He'll make his Wayne County Speedway debut with the World of Outlaws on Friday. Then on Saturday, he'll look to win the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville for the third year in a row.

SCHATZ ON THE HUNT: Ten-time Series champion Donny Schatz, of Fargo, ND, is three wins away from a career milestone of 300 World of Outlaws victories. He currently has three wins this year – his last coming at Lernerville in July. Since that win, he and his Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team have been on a roller coaster of up and down performances. They’ve recently been able to string together a run of 10 top-10 finishes in a row – three of them being top-fives.

The Commonwealth Clash put a big hinderance of Schatz’s championship hunt last year but could be a positive turning point for his 2020 season. A strong performance this weekend, especially a win, could help put he and his team on a path to contending for the championship at the end of the year. Schatz is currently third in points – 92 points behind Sweet.

FACES IN NEW PLACES: You'll be forgive you if you have to look twice at a couple of cars this weekend. Daryn Pittman, of Owasso, OK, ended his tenure with Roth Motorsports last weekend and will finish the 2020 World of Outlaws season behind the wheel of the Heffner Racing #72 car out of Pennsylvania. Taking his place in Roth’s historic #83 car for the remainder of the year will be Spencer Bayston, of Lebanon, IN.

Pittman is no stranger to the Heffner team. He ran for them in Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2012 and made 20 World of Outlaws starts with them during that time, collecting a win at Williams Grove Speedway in 2011.

Bayston has 21 career World of Outlaws Feature starts with a career best finish of fourth at the Dirt Track at Charlotte in 2018. He made one Series start at Lernerville in 2018 and finished 21st. He’ll make his first Series start at Plymouth and Wayne County but does hold the track record at the Ohio track.

GRAVEL ON WIN CRAVE: David Gravel, of Watertown, CT, and Jason Johnson Racing have been knocking on the door of another victory. He earned three podium finishes in the last three races, including a runner-up finish at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. He’s also on a streak of 26 top-10 finishes in a row. He's the last driver to win at Plymouth Speedway in 2017.

JJR continues to be a top contender for the team championship, as well. With Gravel’s success and Parker Price-Miller filling in for him when he missed a couple of races, the team is currently tied for second in the team standings with Schuchart’s Shark Racing team – eight points behind Kasey Kahne Racing.

Kerry Madsen Extends Top-10 Streak After Earning Three More in Central Pennsylvania

Inside Line Promotions - ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 21, 2020) - Kerry Madsen scored a trio of top 10s in Central Pennsylvania last weekend.

The Killer Instinct Crossbows supported team has earned a top 10 in seven straight races and during 11 of the last 12 starts, giving Big Game Motorsports 34 top 10s this season.

"Our car is great," Madsen said. "I feel like if we keep hanging in there and doing what we're doing it's going to lead to some wins."

Madsen made the first of two visits to Lincoln Speedway last Wednesday. He qualified third quickest and finished second in a heat race. That lined the team up on the inside of the fifth row for the A Main.

"On Wednesday we were really good, but we had a mechanical issue in the heat and missed the feature redraw," he said. "We ran pretty good, but didn't advance as far as we should in the feature."

Madsen ended with an eighth-place showing.

The team headed to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday for the first of two straight Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 races. Madsen qualified third quickest overall and placed second in his heat race to advance into a dash.

"We were having a good night and drew fourth in a dash," he said. "We finished there and I thought we were pretty good in the feature, but the track took rubber. I didn't get as much as I should have at the start before it laid rubber."

Madsen finished eighth for the second straight night.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway for the Dirt Classic. Madsen qualified 19th quickest out of the 50-plus drivers. He then placed third and fifth, respectively, in twin heat races to garner enough points to lock into the 18th starting position in the main event.

"We didn't qualify as good as we should have and in the second round of heat races we needed to advance," he said. "We were really good in the A Main. I think we would have got a little further up the pecking order, but it laid rubber so that was that."

Madsen rallied from 18th to 10th, which earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

"For me, it's really hard to make up any ground at Lincoln," he said. "I was really good early so I was pleased with that."

This is a busy week for the team with races on Tuesday and Wednesday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the Governors Reign with the Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1. The plan for this weekend is to tackle World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races on Friday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, and Saturday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., for the Commonwealth Clash.

Starks Sets New Track Record at Skagit Speedway and Nets Hard Charger Award at Huset's Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - BRANDON, S.D. (Sept. 21, 2020) - A new track record and a Hard Charger Award highlighted last weekend for Trey Starks.

The action began on Thursday at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., where Starks piloted his family owned car during the 360ci winged sprint car season finale at the high-banked oval. His quick time in qualifying was a new track record for the division.

"We had a really good night going at Skagit, setting a track record and advancing from fourth to third place in our heat race," he said. "I rolled the No. 6 for the feature inversion so that started me in the third row for the main event.

"I was rolling really good. I was battling for the lead and got tagged from behind and spun around. That was a bummer. We went to the back with 12 laps to go and made it back to eighth. I felt like we had the fastest car. We just had a mishap and didn't end up getting it done. We've had a fast car the handful of times we've gone there this year. That's a good feeling with this little operation we have left."

Starks, who was up to second when he was spun out midway through the race, rallied from the rear of the field to finish eighth.

He then joined the Gobrecht Motorsports team at Huset's Speedway to run the two-day DeKalb/Asgrow Power Series Nationals presented by Casey's General Stores with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series and the Midwest Power Series.

"We had a fast car both nights," he said. "On Friday we were quick in hot laps and ended up blowing a power steering line in qualifying when we pushed out so I didn't get the laps we needed. In the heat race we had more steering issues and I ended up dropping to fourth. We got it sorted out for the feature. We picked up a couple of cars before the track took rubber. It wasn't a bad night, but we didn't quite have the luck we needed."

Starks placed 12th in the A Main.

The weekend concluded on Saturday when nearly 50 drivers tackled the event.

"We qualified quick time in our group and had a really fast car," Starks said. "I didn't get a good start in the heat race and got slowed up a bit racing for fourth and fell to sixth. We had to come through the B Main. We had a really fast car and put down some good lap times. We ran a quicker time in the B Main than we did on our qualifying lap. Then in the feature we started 21st and picked our way through the field. We really came alive toward the end. We were really good on restarts and in open track. The last lap was the only lap I had all race in open air and we were really, really fast. It was a really fun track with a big, gnarly curb. It was a track you had to grit your teeth and run it as hard as you could. I like racing on those types of tracks."

That showed as Starks hustled from 21st to a fourth-place finish. It was his fifth top five of the season and earned the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

QUICK RESULTS -

Sept. 17 - Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. - Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 3 (4); Feature: 8 (5).

Sept. 18 - Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D. - Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 4 (2); Feature: 12 (15).

Sept. 19 - Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D. - Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 6 (4); B Main: 1 (3); Feature: 4 (21).

Kaleb Johnson Charges from Last to Top-10 Finish at Power Series Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - BRANDON, S.D. (Sept. 21, 2020) - Kaleb Johnson charged from the 24th starting position to score a top-10 finish at Huset's Speedway last Saturday during the final night of the DeKalb/Asgrow Power Series Nationals presented by Casey's General Stores.

"Our weekend went okay," said Johnson, who rallied back from a crash at the event the previous night. "There were a lot of good cars. Friday was disappointing. We wanted to make the A Main on the final night. We did that and then we passed a lot of cars, so we were pretty happy with the way we finished the weekend."

Johnson's evening didn't get off to the start he hoped for when he qualified 16th out of 24 cars in his group during the Midwest Sprint Touring Series and the Midwest Power Series event on Saturday.

"The car didn't feel right in hot laps and we didn't have a lot of time to change things before time trials," he said. "But the track was pretty greasy so I didn't really know what to change. I ended up spinning the tires most of the way around the track during qualifying."

Johnson's qualifying time slotted him in the eighth starting position in his heat race with the top five advancing to the A Main.

"The track was still pretty heavy for the heat race so we felt pretty good about moving forward a couple of spots to finish sixth," he said. "We missed the transfer for the A Main by one position, but it gave us a good starting spot for the B Main. We started and finished fourth in the B Main and that got us the last starting position in the A Main."

Johnson was able to advance early in the night's main event until a miscue reset his race.

"My primary concern was not getting lapped early in the race because I was starting 24th on a short track where the leader has a long head start," he said. "I was able to pass a few cars early, but then I missed the bottom around Lap 9 and spun out and had to restart at the back again. But after that I was able to make the top work and got by quite a few cars. It was a lot of fun and I was happy to finish 10th after restarting last."

Friday evening began better than Saturday for Johnson, but the upside was short-lived. After qualifying 10th quickest in his group, Johnson's night ended early on the first lap of his heat race.

"I was running the top in turns three and four and Tim Kaeding was on the bottom," he said. "I think he hit a slimy spot coming out of four and it pushed his car up the track. He left me enough room, but I got over the cushion and into the wall pretty hard. It broke the rear end and about every bolt-on part in that area of the car. I was fortunate that it didn't flip. We probably could've fixed it, but we didn't feel it was worth it to start last in the C Main."

Last weekend marked the end of the 2020 racing season for Johnson.

Hill Shows Improvement Throughout Hockett/McMillin Memorial

Inside Line Promotions - WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 21, 2020) - Alex Hill made improvement throughout the 10th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial hosted by Lucas Oil Speedway last weekend.

The Hill's Racing Team driver fell just a few positions short of making the A Main on Saturday night after three nights of stout competition with a nearly 80-car field at the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.

"We didn't start off very well on the first night," she said. "Our notes from last year didn't seem to work well this year. The track was different this year with a curb around the bottom. That took some getting used to and I eventually got comfortable with it by the final night."

Hill moved forward in all three of her races on Saturday. She went from eighth to sixth in her qualifier and fifth to fourth in a B Main. In the Last Chance Qualifier - her final opportunity to make the event's biggest race - she raced from 12th to ninth, falling three spots shy of the final transfer position.

"We kept improving, but we just started too far back to get a transfer spot to the A Main," she said.

Hill had a challenging evening on the opening night last Thursday when she finished ninth in her heat race and eighth in her qualifier. She advanced from 16th to 10th in the B Main.

Friday began well for her with a heat race victory.

"I started second and got a really good start," she said. "I was able to get the lead right away and hold it to the finish so that was nice."

Hill followed up her heat race win with a ninth-place run in her qualifier and a sixth-place finish in the B Main after starting eighth.

Hill will take this week off before competing in the 33rd annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., Oct. 2-3.

CHRIS MELEASON CLAIMS SUPER SPORTSMAN WIN AT BAPS

YORK HAVEN, Pa.: Chris Meleason has been fast at different points in the Super Sportsman season, but he just didn’t have the results to show for it.

A week ago, fans and fellow competitors got a glimpse of what Meleason can do if bad luck stays away. He finished third in the Super Sportsman 100 and had plenty of momentum going into last Saturday night.

The end result was something that was long overdue. Meleason dominated the 25-Lap BAPS Super Sportsman main event at BAPS Motor Speedway, taking the win by a gaudy 5.67 seconds.

“It was smooth,” Meleason said. “I can’t thank this crew enough. Our performances haven’t really shown the work we have been putting in, and finally, we are starting to show some speed.

“Big thanks to Chuck Duncan. We partnered up this year, and like I said, we haven’t shown the work we have put into it, and it’s just good to show speed at the end of the year. Big thanks to the crew, Josh and Kramer ... he does all of our set-ups, and he had it working tonight.”

That’s an understatement.

Devin Beidel started on the pole and led the first circuit. Meleason, who started third, wasted little time flexing at the front of the field, blowing by Beidel for the top spot on the second circuit.

Once out front, Meleason went into check-out mode. He blasted around the bottom of the speedway, slicing through lapped traffic with ease.

“It was not one of my typical tracks,” Meleason said. “Normally, I like to be up top, but man, this thing was smooth down there. We tried a couple of things on this car this week and got it working like the other car.

“I wasn’t going to give it away. I stayed on it the whole time. When you’re out there, you don’t know how close anyone is, and you just run every lap as hard as you can.”

Meleason was in another zip code. He lapped up to 12th-place and took the win with ease. Beidel was second, followed by eighth-place starter Kenny Edkin. Super Sportsman 100 champion Frankie Herr and John Edkin completed the top five in the final rundown.

In the Creekside Auto Sales 358 Late Model main event, Daulton Bigler lost the top spot but took it back and cruised to the 20-Lap victory.

Danny Snyder got the jump on Bigler at the start and led the first circuit. Bigler got a rhythm on Lap 2 and retook the lead for good.

A pair of cautions slowed his pace, but Bigler had enough at the end to hold off 12th-place starter Chase Billet. Shawn Miller, Travis Mease, and Sean Merkel completed the top five.

Jasen Geesaman beat Eric Tripp to the stripe to earn the win in the 20-Lap Frankie’s Used Auto Parts/Mike’s Towing Street Stock feature.

Geesaman started third and charged to the front, leading the first four laps. Brian Walls took the lead on Lap 5 but could only hold it for five laps, giving way to Tripp.

Tripp, who started on the pole was fast, but Geesaman was better. Geesaman retook the point on Lap 14 and led the rest of the way for the win.

Bud Witmer followed Geesaman and Tripp to the line. Kyle Saylor and Ryan Smith completed the top five.

In the Superior Homes Extreme Stock main event, Keith Bissinger advanced to first from his fifth-place starting spot in two laps and earned the 20-Lap win.

Patrick McClane finished second, followed by Hunter Fulton, Andrew Hogue, and Will Long.
