CARLISLE, PA. - September 1, 2020 - One would not guess that the month of the September would be the busiest on the calendar for a race team. Yet, as the ninth month of 2020 begins, CJB Motorsports and Brent Marks are gearing up for one of the most race heavy portions of their schedule.
To wrap up the month of August, the team competed with the Ollies Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions in a series of events. On Thursday, August 27th, the #5 machine was in action at Grandview Speedway near Bechtelsville, Pa. Marks timed in 17th, finished 3rd in the heat race and 6th in the feature. The following nights action was scheduled to be held at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg. Mother Nature washed away hopes of that event so the series moved onto Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pa. on Saturday, August 29th. The team timed in 6th, finished 5th in the heat race and started the feature in 18th. The #5 car was up to fifth before a tire change ended their charge. The weekend wrapped up with a stop at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Sunday, August 30th. The team timed in 5th, finished 4th in their heat race and 7th in the first dash. Marks went from 7th to 4th in the feature.

"We were pretty fast this weekend," said Marks, pilot of the #5 M&M Painting and Construction, BAPS Paints, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Alkaline 88 Water, R.E. Pierson Construction Co., Wolfrun Landscapes, Nyce, Crete & Landis Block and Concrete, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Ecynbro Trucking machine. "I feel like we really have a good program right now and we've been really strong especially towards the end of a race. The most important part. Very proud of this team. Lincoln we started 18 and got up to 5th but got tagged in the left rear tire late in the race and caused a flat. A lot of hard work just for that to happen."
September kicks off with a busy Labor Day weekend for CJB. Friday, September 4th will see the team at Williams Grove Speedway as they chase the season title there. On Saturday, September 5th and Monday September 7th, the team will be in action at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway. On Sunday, September 6th, the #5 can will be at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway.
"I'm looking forward to a strong weekend and Friday night concentrating on getting our points lead back at Williams Grove," said Marks. "We have a lot of racing coming up and I'm looking forward to that! We have a chance to get us a few wins."
