Tankersley Excited to Make Debut at Monroe Motor Speedway This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions - HIGHLANDS, Texas (Sept. 1, 2020) - Channin Tankersley is heading to Louisiana, where he has three top-10 results during as many starts this year.

In fact, the Old School Racing driver has 11 straight top 10s in the state dating back to July 2012. But this Saturday will be a different storyline as the ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region event is being held at a track where Tankersley and his competitors don't have experience.

Monroe Motor Speedway in Monroe is a pavement track that now has dirt on it and Saturday's event will mark the first time Tankersley has been there.

"I've run most of the tracks in Louisiana going back to my mini sprint days," he said. "Having experience on them always helps, but this is a new track for everybody. It's one of those things where you start at your baseline and work on it from there. Generally speaking when you race at a bunch of different tracks you can go somewhere and compare it to another track to have an idea where you start at. We'll see how it goes once we unload. We're just happy to be racing."

Tankersley has made the most of his opportunity to race this year even though it hasn't been often. He has produced seven top fives and 10 top 10s in 15 starts, including a pair of top 10s in Kansas and Oklahoma during the ASCS Sprint Week last month.

"We haven't got to race a ton this year and we're not sure what the remainder of the year looks like so we're just excited to be able to race any time we can," he said.

15 races, 2 wins, 7 top fives, 10 top 10s, 12 top 15s, 13 top 20s
