Crockett Aiming for Win During Devil's Bowl Winter Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (Oct. 12, 2020) - Roger Crockett is focused on scoring a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph this weekend during the final national event of the season.

Crockett heads to Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Friday and Saturday for the 47th annual Winter Nationals - an event he won last year.

"I think Devil's Bowl is fun," he said. "It can be tough to pass early on when it's wet, but it's usually pretty good. It's really technical. The driver can have a lot of input on what the car does there because the ends race so different. The back straightaway is so much higher than the front straightaway. That makes the corners race so much different. We've run well there and look forward to trying to repeat what we did last year."

Crockett finished second during the opener before he won the Winter Nationals finale last year.

"It's a fairly prestigious event," he said. "In the last five races at Devil's Bowl we've had two wins, a second and a sixth. It's been a good track for us."

Crockett enters this weekend ranked second in the championship standings.

"We've had pretty good speed most of the year," he said. "We want to finish off the year with a win. I think Devil's Bowl is a good place for us to accomplish that. We need to run well the first night and secure second in the standings. But also, we'd really like to get a win before the season finishes up."
