Dominic Scelzi Aiming for Continued Success at Keller Auto Speedway This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions - FRESNO, Calif. (April 6, 2021) - Confidence and momentum are both on Dominic Scelzi's side as he ventures to Keller Auto Speedway this weekend for a Kings of Thunder 410ci winged sprint car show.

Scelzi has won a feature at the dirt oval in Hanford, Calif., during each of the last four years, including one last month.

"I think in the last two years we've raced there more than ever and we've won some races," he said. "I'm excited to run a 410 around there again. I think it'll be a pretty stout group of cars this weekend. We've done well recently in 360 competition so hopefully we can have similar success with our 410."

Scelzi's win at Keller Auto Speedway on March 13 gave him two top fives in three starts at the track this year. He also produced one win, three top fives and five top 10s in six races at the oval last season. The 2019 campaign was highlighted by a win and six top fives and Scelzi posted a triumph at Keller Auto Speedway in 2018.

"I think it's because we've raced there so much, probably more than any other track in California," he said. "We've been able to see the track a lot. Peter (Murphy) has done a lot to get the surface right and the shape right. It reminds me of racing in the Midwest. It's slick and doesn't build a monstrous cushion. There's a familiarity with racing in the Midwest that I enjoy."

Scelzi also enters this weekend riding a two-race winning streak after sweeping the most recent two-day Kings of Thunder event at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., on March 26-27. He has won four of his last seven starts.

"I really feel like Jimmy (Carr) and I are on the same page," he said. "We've been really strong. For us to run the 410 races and do well is important because we haven't run a lot of 410 stuff this year. We've been good at the couple of 410 races. Over the last few weeks we've been the guy to beat in the 360s, which is a great feeling to have. I hope we can continue that in the 410."
