BROWNSBURG, Ind. (September 13, 2021) – Ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, may have missed the top-ten during Gold Cup Race of Champions preliminary competition on Friday, but the Fargo, North Dakota-native prevailed on Saturday during the two-day finale and cashed in for a top-five performance, ultimately advancing five spots to finish fourth amongst the best that the Outlaws and California had to offer.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car, kicked-off Saturday evening with a third-place finish during heat race competition sending the former Gold Cup champion directly to the A-Main.

Schatz’ Friday result was a 13th-place score after starting 22nd, forced to compete and eventually transfer through the evening’s Last Chance Showdown after timing near the back of the 33-car field.

Keller Auto Speedway’s Tom Tarlton Classic will hit high gear for the Greatest Show On Dirt on Saturday, September 18, and will award a $21,000 payday. In addition, the visit to Hanford, California, will conclude the 2021 World of Outlaws West Coast Swing.

Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania, will follow on the agenda with visits scheduled on Friday and Saturday, September 24-25. Williams Grove Speedway’s annual National Open will highlight action on Friday and Saturday, October 1-2. The National Open finale will award a $75,000 payday.
