Sides Heading to Eldora Speedway and Lernerville Speedway This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - HANFORD, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2021) - Jason Sides is bound for the middle of the country to spend a couple of days at home before an upcoming weekend in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Sides has been traveling from California toward his shop in Tennessee, a journey of more than 27 hours. He will then leave in a couple of days for the nine-plus hour trip to Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, for the BeFour the Crowns Showdown on Friday prior to a race on Saturday at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., for the Commonwealth Clash.

"I'm looking forward to a couple of days at home before heading to Eldora and Lernerville," he said. "We always enjoy racing at those two tracks and are excited to head to both this weekend."

Sides wrapped up his first trip to the West Coast in two years last Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway, which hosted the Tom Tarlton Classic.

The night began on a positive note as Sides qualified third quickest and won a heat race to advance into the dash.

"Going out late was a little bit better in qualifying," he said. "The track got a little widened out and was greasy early. We had a decent run to get to the front of the heat. The track was a little narrow then and (David) Gravel showed me a nose a couple of times, but we stayed out front.

"We tightened up a little for the dash because the track was getting slick. I thought we had a good run, but when we got into turn one there were some holes that started to form in turns one and two. We hit one and shoved up the track. That cost us two spots."

Sides placed sixth in the dash, which started him on the outside of the third row in the main event.

"We were trying some stuff that worked the other night in Elma," he said. "It just didn't work there. We tried to make it where the car would squat and go. It just squatted and slid across the race track. As slick as it got we weren't really prepared for it. We should have been tighter or more free to bang off the curb, but that's not my style anymore."

Sides dropped several positions early and went into the work area midway through the race. His crew made a shock adjustment and Sides rallied from the back of the pack to 16th during the remainder of the race.

"The car felt better and was more drivable after the pit stop," he said. "We just tried something that didn't work to start the race."
