By Fully Injected Motorsports:

CARLISLE, Pa. (April 11, 2022) – Lebanon, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston and Central Pennsylvania-based CJB Motorsports have been in the hunt on a nightly basis with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, and their recent visit to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Missouri, proved to be no exception, capping the annual Jason Johnson Classic with a runner-up finish after starting in the exact same position.

A consistent evening on the whole, Bayston, pilot of the Signing Day Sports, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, FK Rod Ends, No. 5 sprint car, kicked-off preliminary action with a runner-up finish during heat race competition, driving on to finish second in the evening’s dash. Feature action would see Bayston fade to third just after the initial start, but the former Port Royal Speedway World of Outlaws winner would hang tough and eventually recover, taking advantage of race leader Brady Bacon’s cut tire with just one circuit remaining.

Track conditions proved tricky for the Jason Johnson Classic A-Main starters, as a slick-turned-abrasive surface made passing very strenuous.

“I think we’re as fast as anyone right now,” Bayston said from the podium. “Some things haven’t gone our way, but we’ve made the most of the opportunities we’ve been given. This is what these guys deserve to be up here on the frontstretch. The first part of this year is all new to me, but we’ve done a great job of attacking. I’m ready to get that first win out of the way.”

Bayston and CJB Motorsports now own seven top-ten finishes in the first 13 World of Outlaws starts, three of which earned within the top-five.

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with another doubleheader in the Show-Me State, set to invade Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16. A warm-up for the annual 55-lap/$20,000-to-win Ironman 55, the two-day visit to greater St. Louis will feature two, full programs and will cap all World of Outlaws action in the Show-Me State until the Series returns for the aforementioned Ironman in early August.
