Open Wheel Madness and Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series Highlight Two-Race Weekend at Port Royal Speedway

 Port Royal Speedway – PORT ROYAL, PA – (April 6, 2022) Port Royal Speedway returns to racing this Saturday and Sunday with a huge weekend doubleheader!

 Saturday, April 9th, will be the first Open Wheel Madness event of the season and it features the Weikert's Livestock 410 Sprint Cars, the United Racing Club 360 Sprint Cars and the first visit of the season for the PennsValley MeatMarket PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars.

 Gates open at 3:00PM with racing set to kick off at 6:00PM..

 GA- $20, Students- $10, Pits- $30

 We then come back on Sunday, April 10th, with the first of three visits for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the second event of the season for the Selinsgrove Ford Limited Late Models.

 It was four-time defending track champion Logan Wagner picking up the win last weekend in Weikert's Livestock 410 Sprint Car action for his first triumph of the 2022 racing season. However, it's still Anthony Macri on top of the standings by a margin of 85 points over Logan's father, Mike Wagner. Logan sits third (-90) with Justin Peck (-100) and Lucas Wolfe (-110) rounding out the top five. Drivers will be competing for $5000 to win this weekend

 This will be the Capital Renegade URC 360 Sprint Cars first of two visits to the track this year and the series' season opener following a rain out two weekends ago at Bridgeport Speedway. Anthony Macri and Jason Shultz picked up victories with the series last season at the Speedway. Dating back to 2016, the last 11 events at the Speedway for the series have been won by 410 Sprint Car drivers doing double duty. The winner of this weekend's event will receive $2000 for their efforts.

 This will also be the first of nine events for the 2022 racing season for the Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars. Dave Grube enters the 2022 season as the defending track champion in the division. Other drivers to earn championships at the track in the division include Garrett Bard, Ken Duke, Kyle Smith, Tyler Reeser, Nate Gramley, Jeff Miller Jr. (2) and Logan Wagner.

 Sunday's River Valley 40 for the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series will by 40 laps in distance and pay $10,000 to win. Entering the weekend finale, Devin Moran leads the Lucas Oil series point standings over Brandon Sheppard (-15), Tyler Erb (-170), Tim McCreadie (-180) and Hudson O'Neal (-220).

 In regards to the Krill Recycling, LLC Super Late Model regulars at the Speedway, it's been all Colton Flinner to start the season as he's gone a perfect three-for-three to open the season. As a result of his victory last weekend he'll be automatically locked into Sunday night's A-main feature event. He'll lead a contingent of local competitors hoping to take the victory against the best drivers Super Late Model racing has to offer.

 Past winners with the series at the Speedway are McCreadie (2), O'neal, Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Larson, Scott Bloomquist and Rick Eckert.

 Finally, the Selinsgrove Ford Limited Late Models will be competing for $1500 to win to close out the show on Sunday and it'll be Dillan Stake entering as the series points leader following a $2000 victory last weekend at the Speedway. Jared Fulkroad, Todd Snook, Devin Hart and Taylor Farling round out the top five.
