Sides Nets Top 15 During Debut at Vado Speedway Park

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (April 4, 2022) - Jason Sides posted his first top 15 of the season last Tuesday during the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series debut at Vado Speedway Park.

Sides qualified seventh quickest and placed fifth in a heat race before ending the night with a 15th-place outing at the track in Vado, N.M.

"It's a beautiful facility," he said. "It was pretty windy all day and night. The track raced a lot like the old Royal Purple race track in Houston. They got it kind of wet because of the winds so the racing groove didn't move up as high as I'm sure they'd like it to, but it was still a pretty good race track. Early it was nice around the bottom. That went away and everybody moved up. It was just a solid night all around."

The team ventured to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., for a show on Friday, but weather forced the event to be postponed.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway, which hosted the Duramax Drydene Texas Outlaw Nationals.

Sides timed in 18th quickest, ran sixth in a heat race, finished second in the Last Chance Showdown and ended the feature 22nd.

"The track was so wet all night so it was tough to pass," he said. "We put so much gear to it and kept adding. We put two tires on at the beginning of the night, ran four laps in hot laps, three laps in qualifying counting the slow-down lap. Then we had an eight-lap heat race, a 12-lap B Main and 30 laps in the feature and the tires were still in good condition."

Next up is a pair of races in Missouri this Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn and Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon for the Jason Johnson Classic.
