Old School Racing's Tankersley Set for Season Debut With World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions - HIGHLANDS, Texas (Sept. 15, 2020) - Channin Tankersley will join the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for a pair of races this weekend, marking his first time competing with 'The Greatest Show on Dirt' since April 2018.

The Old School Racing competitor is slated to race on Friday at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., and on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, during the Texas Outlaw Nationals.

"It's nice to have a little bit of familiar ground," he said. "We know roughly where to start, but the 410 deal is so much different than our 360."

Tankersley captured his career-best World of Outlaws result of 17 th during a three-race stint with the series in April 2018. It had been nine years since he raced with the series prior to that.

While this weekend marks his season debut with the Outlaws, Tankersley has earned one top five and two top 10s in four 410ci winged sprint car starts this year.

"We have a little bit of experience," he said. "It's just trying to get acclimated to it; just the balance of the car. You have 200 more horsepower and 100 less pounds in front of the motor plate. That makes a big difference. You might do something in a 360 and then have to back that off for the 410.

"I would like to run around the top 10. If I could do that this weekend I'd be tickled to death."

16 races, 2 wins, 8 top fives, 11 top 10s, 13 top 15s, 14 top 20s
