BROWNSBURG, Ind. (October 12, 2020) – Joining the infamous Pennsylvania Posse and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing put together a respectable performance in the Keystone State during the recent weekend, capping the two-day Nittany Showdown at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” with a pair of main event starts and highlighting their efforts with a 13th-place finish on Friday, October 9.
Stewart, driver of the Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Mobil 1/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Carquest/TechNet Professional Automotive Service/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Absolute Automation & Security/Digital Ally/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car, earned his way into Friday’s main event with a third place finish during his respective heat race. The Columbus, Indiana-native lined-up ninth of the feature grid before shifting back to 13th.
Although failing to match his Friday night performance, Stewart qualified for the $15,000-to-win Nittany Showdown finale on Saturday and finished 20th, improving three spots after starting 23rd on the grid. The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee earned his way into the two-day headliner with a third-place finish during the Last Chance Showdown, forced to compete in the consolation after missing a transfer spot in his particular heat race. A feat in itself, there were over 50 cars on the grounds for the highly-competitive Nittany Showdown.
Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing do not have any set plans for the coming weekend. Those interested in learning more about the team’s future agenda should keep up to date online, as well as on all of Tony Stewart’s social media channels.
