Port Royal Speedway Set For First Open Wheel Madness Event of 2021

Port Royal Speedway- PORT ROYAL, Penn. (April 21, 2021)- Can you feel the madness? Port Royal Speedway welcomes three divisions to the Juniata County oval this Saturday, April 24th, for Open Wheel Madness 1! 


It’ll be the Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars joined by the Penns Valley Meat Market PA Sprint Series 305 Sprint Cars and the first visit of the season for the United Racing Club 360 Sprint Cars. 

Gates Open at 3:00 pm EST with racing set to kick off at 6:00pm EST. General admission is $20; Students $10 and pit admission is $30. Fans will also be able to partake in $1 Hot Dog Night at the Speedway! 

Logan Wagner enters the weekend as the points leader for the 410 Sprint Cars following a big win against the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions last weekend that was worth $10,000. In search of his fourth consecutive track title, Wagner holds a resounding 100-point advantage over Anthony Macri. Dylan Cisney (-150), Jeff Halligan (-175) and Mike Wagner (-185) fill out the top-five.
 
This will be the second visit of the season for the 305 Sprint Cars. Nick Sweigart scored the victory during their April 3rd opener and he enters the weekend as the points leader in search of his first career track title. Dave Grube (-15), Garrett Bard (-25), Justin Clark (-30) and Ken Duke (-35) make up the top-five. 

The URC 360 Sprint Cars will be making their first visit to the Speedway for 2021 and they will be competing for $2000 to win. Anthony Macri scored the victory in the series most recent visit to the track in 2020 and the last nine winners of the event have been 410 Sprint Car standouts pulling double duty. 

Brock Zearfoss (2019), Kyle Reinhardt (2019), Ryan Smith (2019), Steve Buckwalter (2018), Lucas Wolfe (2018), Greg Hodnett (twice in 2017) and Mark Smith (2016) all have victories with the series along with Hank Rogers Sr. (1962), Earl Halaquist (1967), Ryan Wilson (2012) and Randy West (2013). 

The series has only run one club event in 2021 and it was Ryan Smith scoring the victory at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey. He enters the weekend as the series points leader over Andy Best (-8), Dallas Schott (-15), Jason Shultz (-20) and Derek Locke (-25).
