Wilson Joining World of Outlaws This Weekend at Eldora Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - FRANKLIN, Pa. (May 4, 2021) - This weekend will serve as a barometer for Greg Wilson, who is looking to gauge how far his racing program has come this year and where it needs to continue to grow.

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored team will race on Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during #LetsRaceTwo with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

"I know what works at Eldora," Wilson said. "If I go there and it still doesn't work then we need to be looking for something else. I notoriously struggle with qualifying everywhere and about 50 percent of the time we actually time in well there. I put the normal setup we run at Eldora on the car and we're going to find out. We're putting our best motor in and we have tires for the weekend. We're going down there to gauge ourselves if we are getting better."

Wilson raced with the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions last weekend and qualifying hampered the team during races on Saturday at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, and on Sunday at Tri-City Raceway Park.

"It was frustrating for sure, but it's a learning deal," he said. "You gauge yourself off your competition. I questioned if we were a lot better or a little better. When you have tough competition you're going to learn the answer quickly. We're back in the shop working hard to get better."

Wilson ended each night by narrowly missing a transfer into the main event, finishing only one spot out on Saturday and two spots shy on Sunday.

"It was frustrating, especially Saturday because I felt like we gave a situation that we're good at away," he said. "When we left Sharon I thought if I had one more crack at it we'd be all right. The car was pretty good, but we just didn't have speed. It wasn't a lost weekend though. We were so close to being good enough to get in the main event and if I get 30 laps I'm going to pass some cars."

May 1 - Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio - Qualifying: 21; Heat race: 5 (7); B Main: 5 (4).

May 2 - Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pa. - Qualifying: 22; Heat race: 8 (8); B Main: 6 (9).

19 races, 1 win, 7 top fives, 12 top 10s, 12 top 15s, 13 top 20s
