Jim Yoder Takes Checkered Flag at Clinton County Speedway

Mill Hall, PA – Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove claimed his second victory of the season, bringing his career total to 44 wins at the 3/8 mile oval.  “We just really enjoy racing here,” said Yoder in victory lane.  Other winners of the night included Brandon Moser of Millerstown in the Pro Stocks, Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek in the 270 Micro Sprints, Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven in the 600 Micro Sprints, and 4-Cylinder Feature winners included Keith Haagen of Bellefonte, Chloe Smith of Montgomery, and John Bower of Mill Hall.

Len Stroud of Avis and Nick Loffredo of Jersey Shore led the field of Limited Late Models to the green flag, as the field came up to full speed, something mechanical broke on Loffredo’s car to bring out the caution.   The complete restart, put Jim Yoder alongside Stroud.  Yoder raced to the outside of Stroud to lead the opening lap.  Jim’s nephew, multi-time feature winner – Andrew Yoder was running in the runner up position but took his car to the pit area on lap number four.   Mike Smith, who started fifth, tried to chase down Jim Yoder, while Len Stroud Denny Fourney and Tim Luben battled for position.   A late race caution for a stopped car on lap number 17, allowed Smith one more opportunity to pass Yoder.  Yoder held off the challenge to claim the win over Smith, Fourney, Stroud and Luben.  Sixth place was Andrew Yoder followed by Kaiden Bard, Jeremy Oh and Loffredo.  Heats were won by Andrew and Jim Yoder.

Corey Stable and Doug Reinard started on the front row of the 15-lap 270 Micro Sprint feature.  Stabley jumped into the early lead for the first two laps, before sixth place starter Wyatt Rotz made a pass to take over the top position by the completion of lap number three.   Two of the speedway’s top micro sprint competitors, Timmy Bittner of Beech Creek and Jeffrey Weaver of Lock Haven chased Rotz and were in contention to take the top position.  On lap number eight, Bittner made the pass to take the lead and Weaver followed Bittner, shuffling Rotz back to third.   Two laps later, Rotz’s car slowed and brought out the caution flag.   With five laps to go, Bittner led Weaver, Denny Rinehimer, Stabley and Reinard.   Bittner executed a flawless start and cruised to the win over Weaver, Rinehimer, Stabley and Reinard.  Sixth through tenth were Braden Kuhn, Nick Whitesel, Skeetz Hockenbrock, Tom Quiggle and Troy Whitesel.  Heat races were won by Stabley, Weaver and Rotz.

Pole sitter Dexter Strawser led the first lap of the 600 Micro Sprint feature event over Sierra Hauck, Dustin Roberts, Timmy Bittner, and Cody Hauck.  Strawser began to distance himself from the field, as Sierra Hauck and Timmy Bittner battled for the runner up position.  Bittner took over second place by lap number 5 and set his sights on reeling in Strawser who had a sizable lead.  Meanwhile, Jeffrey Weaver moved into the top five.   As the race continued caution free, Bittner was gaining on Strawser with the completion of every lap.  On lap number eleven, Bittner caught Strawser and on the next circuit, made the pass for the lead.  Bittner appeared to be on his way to another sweep of the micro sprint feature events.  As he was encountering lapped traffic on lap number 13, Bittner spun and brought out the caution.   Weaver took over the top spot with Strawser, Cody Hauck, Dustin Robert, and Sierra Hauck restarting in the top five.  Weaver held off Strawser for the win over Roberts, Sierra Hauck, and Cody Hauck.  Sixth through tenth were Ethan Spotts, Timmy Bittner, Jeff Gyuina, Michell Holden, and Dan Tripoli.        Heat races were won by Cody Hauck and Strawser.

Robert Tressler of Lock Haven started on the outside of the front row and took the lead from pole sitter Chris Orwig Sr in the Pro Stock main event.   Last week’s feature winner, AY Schilling and current point leader Brandon Moser battle for the runner up position.  By lap number three, the top three cars were in a contested battle.  On lap number four, Moser passed Tressler for the lead, while Cory Long and Noah Jensen made it a five car battle for the win.   The caution waved on lap number nine, when Cory Long’s car stopped to bring out the caution.   Moser held off Tressler on the restart to earn his sixth victory of the year.   Tressler finished second, while Schilling and Jensen battled for third and fourth.   Orwig finished fifth.   Sixth through tenth were Rich Fye, Rooster Peters, Corey Long, Todd Geyer and Tim Shirk.  Heat race winners were Schilling and Tressler.

Dylan Craft led the opening laps of the first Four-Cylinder main event.   Current point leader and sixth place start, Blake Snyder followed on Crafts rear bumper in a race that went non-stop.  Snyder made the pass for the lead by the completion of lap number seven.   Fourth place starter John Bower took the runner up position from Craft on lap number nine as the field began to encounter lapped traffic.   Snyder appeared to be on his way to the win, as the top three cars entered turns three and four.  As the checkered flag was waving, Snyder hesitated with a lapped car, and Bower powered by to take the win.   Snyder settled for second followed by Jimmy Moyer, Craft and Scott Englert.  Sixth through tenth were Chloe Smith, Maddox Smith, Emily Brouse, Coty Maines, and Dakota Hamilton.

Chloe Smith started on the pole and led the field to the green flag for the second four-cylinder feature event.   Dylan Craft quickly moved into second with Shawn Stahl running in third.   Ninth place starter, Keith Haagen moved into the top five by lap number four.   On lap number eight, Haagen took over second place.  With two laps remaining, Haagen took the lead with Jimmy Moyer in hot pursuit.   Haagen and Moyer raced to the line with Craft, Bower and Englert in the top five.  Sixth through tenth were Maddox Smith, Chole Smith, Joshua Thompson, Tim Muthler, and Emily Brouse.   Heat races were won by Englert, Haagen, and Stahl.

Chloe Smith won the 4 Cylinder Jr. Race.
