Inside Line Promotions - GREENBRIER, Ark. (March 21, 2022) - Jordon Mallett is pleased to welcome the return of Awakening Events to his sprint car team in 2022.
Awakening Events, which is a nationwide, full service, live event company that is based in Greenbrier, Ark., previously partnered with Mallett in 2019 and 2020.
"It's super exciting to have them back," Mallett said. "With the pandemic, just like in racing, it slowed all of the live events down. We pressed pause and let everything settle back down. We're thrilled to welcome them back as the primary partner for our team. I look forward to having a lot of success together. They've been a great supporter of us and we're excited to welcome them back bigger and better than ever.
"We're blessed to have a great group of partners in addition to Awakening Events, including Porter Commercial Refrigeration, Water for Christ, Red River Rack Co. and D&K Farms among others."
Mallett is planning to kick off his 2022 campaign this Friday and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. It's a track close to home where he's enjoyed a lot of success, especially during the most recent ASCS National Tour event last October.
"Me and I-30 have had a history," he quipped. "I've been super successful in West Memphis, which is another track close to home, but last year it seemed like we were where I finally wanted to be racing in Little Rock. We won a big local sprint car show early in the year. We ran second in the Henson Memorial and I won the Short Track Nationals prelim night before leading all but the last four laps of the finale when a caution got me. We were always in the hunt so we feel a lot better when we roll into I-30 now."
Mallett is coming off a six-win season and he is planning a similar open schedule without chasing points with a series.
"We're going to capitalize on what we did last year with our own schedule, going to the bigger shows we want to," he said. "We'll go where the best racing, the best shows and the best competition are. We won't be nailed down to anything. I think that's a good plan that keeps me sharp in the seat racing with a bunch of series and at a bunch of tracks.
"I would rank last year as one of my best years. As far as wins go it wasn't my best year, but as far as the competitive level and being in the hunt every night it was one of our best years. We've had a year when we won more races, but it seemed like it didn't matter what series we were with we ran well last year. Mentally and physically I felt really good and we're looking to keep that same recipe for this year."
